NoAlox is a benefit but not a cure all for aluminum wires connected to
receptacles and switches not specifically made for aluminum wire. The
problem is that at any where near rated load the aluminum wire will
expand. When constrained by a brass screw the aluminum can only extrude
sideways out from under the screw. Then when the aluminum cools (it
expands and contracts more than brass) there's an instant loose
connection. That makes the joint heat more rapidly the next time. At a
MINIMUM all outlets and switches in aluminum wiring must be replaced
with outlets and switches rated for aluminum wire. Duplex receptacles
cost about $3 each at Lowe's or Home Depot. NoAlox should be used on the
replacement receptacles and switches.
