Fluorescent light technology has come a long, long way in the past few
years. I've started changing over to fluorescent replacement 'bulbs'
throughout my home - these have the ballast in the base, and screw right
into any standard bulb holder. I don't know if the 12v fluorescents still do
that 60hz 'flicker' thing, though; I don't know why they would... Dr. J?
