Bob Kiger ......what happens to the gas mileage when carrying that much
fuel since
that is a lot of weight? Plus isn't gas cheaper down
in Mexico so why would you buy it in Oceanside?

Dear Dr. G.I can only do the best that I can. In Oceanside we have one of the best carb and vacuum guys I have ever seen. He's going over the Camper Special. I like the tire idea and have had success in my teenage years of increasing gas mileage using that technique.
The dual exhausts may help and as you point out the A/C removal will also. I have this confident feeling that I can get some increase using these measures. From 10 up to 14 mpg would be a 40% increase. It's the difference between a 600 mile range and an 840 mile range on my 60 gallon tanks.Goodness, I'll be able to go all the way to Loreto in the Baja on one fillup :) I find that the vehicle runs most smoothly at about 60mph which will keep me from being a traffic hazard.
