Is there a "perfect fix", short of 'format C:' followed by animal sacrifice? ;-) Stan's process is very thorough, and represents what is probably the most complete course of action. If you don't have access to AV software on bootable media, though, and/or you'd like to try the "scan with Linux" route, ClamAV is a good option. Use a live CD distro like Knoppix (looks like you work for GMA, so I suspect you have access to some bandwidth...). If the live CD you download doesn't include ClamAV, you should be able to get it easily as long as the distro supports unionfs. (For Knoppix: 'apt-get install clamav' should work.) Don't forget to update your signature database after installing (with 'freshclam'). I'd _still_ follow the "safe mode/process pause" steps of Stan's procedure afterwards. At the very least, though, a preliminary scan from a live-CD distro would reduce the number of issues that you need to deal with in a manual fashion.
