Qemu is super cool, and is used on Windows as well (it's used as the testing mechanism for the UBUSB Ultimate USB Boot disk, Windows PE system). I've used it a few times in the past, in both Linux and Windows, for simple-ish virtualization tasks. I know, I know, yer all gasping with horror that I of all people would stoop to using a Windows boot environment, but even my customers (or family/ friends, more often :) manage to get viruses on their workstations occasionally, and it sure is nice to boot off a stick, clean the viruses with Avast, and reboot 'em from their nice, clean drive again.
