Dave: I've been pulled over by cops in their own cars, making 'civilian' arrests:) Catch one having a bad day and it's your bad Carma:( But, the lesson learned is that your 171, at the very least, can get plead down to 1/2 that or less; and at best be the ticket to high dudgeon and good laughs in the courtroom. After telling cops citing me now that i'll see them in a year (or more - delays - continuances - etc...) and the prospect of enjoying getting to know them better glued to a witness stand; having done both. Then i tell them that if the case is dismissed i will call them at every chance i get as a witness for the defense! They start to think twice after that - after all, i'm not drinking not wanted not committing any other crimes. The subject of speeding is such a straw man. It's unenforceable. 25mph can kill as easily as 70mph. As many ppl are on meds as drink-n-drive and fundamentally speeding does not kill, influences do not kill, texting does not kill, its losing control that kills. speed is irrelevant despite what anyone says. I hate being in adversarial relationships with the very people I would like to trust and call in an emergency. But speed traps, motor vehicle laws in general, are such a shake-down. To my (and anyone who cares to fight back; not-guilty - day in court - blah...), good fortune, they just stop showing up at court now and the ticket gets tossed. three times now - yea for me! > > > (Also I covered that one... see below :^) > > > --On Thursday, October 08, 2009 10:28:51 AM -0400 Tom Kastner > > > (this one is pure inspiration.
