Probably the default location for the VBox files, like the VBox disks and 
machines.

You can change the location when installing, or after installing through the 
preferences.

jdd is saying that you probably should change the default location. For 
example, in the layout you have below, you could set the default location for 
machines and disks to /vdi. Just put it in a (real) partition that has enough 
space to accommodate the size of the virtual disk you specify.

On my Mac, I have /Users/me/Library/VirtualBox/HardDisks and 
/Users/me/Library/VirtualBox/Machines. That is, these files are in my home 
directory. The file Users/me/Library/VirtualBox/HardDisks/XP-Pro.vdi contains 
my XP "disk", including all of its partitions.
