Is there any reason that it would be unsafe to follow this backup and restore process?
1) create a snapshot 2) copy all relevant files from the host machine to backup media 3) restore files from backup media to the same (or different?) host 4) restore snapshot 5) start VM I think the machine would start from the snapshot point as if nothing had happened.
