I don't want to make any more changes in the source guest WinXP, as that VM works perfectly, as does it when the VDI directory is cloned across to this laptop (and back again after trip). (Both m/c's running Mandriva 2010.2 and V'Box 4.1.14.) I'm just about ready to call it a day, and conclude that what I want to do can't be done on the netbook (which otherwise is performing very well, including Skype). I'm running out of time before the impending big trip, and although I shall miss V'Box it is by no means a showstopper for me. I've already spent more time trying to get V'Box working then I spent installing Linux and migrating all my other tools onto it! The best V'Box did was to work perfectly the first time, but after giving the Shutdown command V'Box then immediately began another boot of the guest, after which the rot set in. What - one wonders - might cause V'Box to do that? Many thanks to all. -- /\/\aurice ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
