I'm afraid you are wrong:

- VDA licenses are only valid for non-Windows devices (such as tablets,
smartphones, Macintosh computers, etc), not for Windows PCs, and require a
Software Assurance contract.

- You can only legally use XP Mode if you are under a Software Assurance
contract

If you run Windows as the host operating system on your computer and you do
not have Software Assurance, XP Mode is the only way to run a virtualized
Windows. There is no other way to license Windows desktop operating systems
for use in virtual machines. Also, if you are not under a Software
Assurance Contract, you can only use exactly ONE instance of Windows
virtualized, no matter how many licenses you acquire, whether they are the
same version or different versions, etc Confirmed by Microsoft.

I have been dealing with this nightmare for many months with Microsoft
Global, to the VP level. 100% frustrating.

You can check everything I said in the Microsoft Product Use Rights
document, which is the final word when licensing any Microsoft product.
