Ok. That is pretty old. Looks like it is a Mid 2007, but has 64 bit
architecture. Not sure on the EFI. Have you seen this link?

see if that would take and then Lion boot into 64 bit mode.
Looks like you could put 3GB of memory in it if you can get it to boot 64bit.
Still marginal for running a VM, but it might work though a bit slow.
