Thanks for the info Frank
I've uninstalled the MDV version and installed your binary.
started vbox and had complaints of a different version running. So I
uninstalled the vboxdrv module, so it then complained of a missing
module, so I went to install the module and that now fails.
Start again time !!!
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Download]# rpm -ev
VirtualBox-1.5.2_25433_mdv2007.1-1.i586.rpm
 error: package
VirtualBox-1.5.2_25433_mdv2007.1-1.i586.rpm is not installed
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Download]# rpm -ivh Vi

Sorry about the line lengths, but the above says if I uninstall your
rpm its not there and if I install the RPM its already there.

the rpm database says its not installed as well:-
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Download]# rpm -q Virtualbox
package Virtualbox is not installed

Now maybe you can see why I dont like to load RPMs on a MDV 2008 sytem
that were built for MDV 2007.1

So I'm stuck now having to sort out the RPM database, or load on top of
the failed install from the tar ball.
and if I use the tar ball does it install the kernel module vboxdrv ???

me mega miffed !
