Consider this. User logins in on /dev/vt/4 and /dev/vt/active points to that. So /dev/sound/* gets owned by the user on /dev/vt/4.
The active VT is changed to /dev/vt/2. The /dev/vt/4 session is ended without it becoming the active VT. What happens to the ownership of the devices ? -- Darren J Moffat
