Patch Set 13: I'm quite sure this is not the case. If it is only sparsifying the top layer, it is not very efficient - it may actually cause the overlay to become bigger. See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1277705#c9 This is exactly why the feature was supposed to be implemented only in case you don't have a 'tree-like' structure. I agree it is changing the past.
