Sorry, been meaning to reply but was trying to bust out docs. :-) Sorting into separate trees for macros could make classification difficult, but since it seems we're talking about removing tools/tools, so I think separate trees would probably be dandy. I'll bet 95% will fall into the general tools/view/macros tree. > > Saying "VelocityStruts" may not provide a clear picture to > > Struts folks of using Velocity for the Struts View Layer. > > Velocity is designed to be a view technology. Struts is > designed to be a controller technology. > I think 'VelocityStruts' is pretty clear. Go tell that to the legions of Struts folks who are using Struts for Control as well as Struts JSP Taglibs for the View. <grin> Here's my last argument, then I'll shut up. I'm talking to a Developer who is using Struts with Eeeevil JSP's...and so I say: "I suggest looking at the Velocity subproject called 'VelocityStruts' for the Struts View layer." or "I suggest looking at the Velocity subproject called 'StrutsView' for the Struts View layer." I like #2 better. ;-) (optional: add "...because JSP and Taglibs are eeeeevil, and Velocity with Macro's rock!" to both.) But we may have to agree to disagree on this one...and since I don't have commit status, I'm prolly going to lose the argument anyway. <grin> > it would probably be org.apache.velocity.tools.view.tools.* I like it. > > = label tools/view - "VelocityView" > including the word 'servlet' doesn't address the hope/quasi-plan for > extending/applying the toolbox management and non-servlet > tools to other environments.
