ONS no longer requires you to retest for your recertification, but you must obtain a specific amount of CEU's every 4 years. They have different requirements for the different certifications that they have. For me, I have the OCN and I need to obtain 100 CEU's every 4 years. They have very specific criteria for the CEU's and you can still take the exam every 4 years if you prefer   Barbara Dismas RN,CRNI,OCN
