Hi Sergey

Hopefully I've fixed the first two bugs. There was a mistake in the way I used the Qt API that caused the crash.

I'll look at the other bugs, but it might not be very easy to fix all of them in a short time.

Best wishes

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy!

This is a major update with need functions, a great work. Especially the
in-place expressions with datasets are a treat!

I did not encounter any problem with this version, however I found two
old ones:
- When going to the 'custom definitions' window, creating any entry,
selecting it and then pressing the 'right' key, a strange tree of
entries opens, and usually Veusz hangs or crashes... I did that
accidentally few times.
- When the default style of the 'axis-broken' gets adjusted, the
respective widgets in the document (although their values are set to the
'default' ones) do not react to these changes. I tried with caption font
sizes, grid lines, etc. For 'axis' and 'axis-function' all works well.

I had a few questions concerning the base plotting functions:
- When shaded/line error bars are used, they are always drawn with the
line primitives. Will it be a lot of work to adjust them so that when
the widget line is drawn in step mode (the "edgy" one), the respective
error areas are also made in the step mode? The same question for the
bezier... sometimes I have sparse log plots which can be quickly
improved with bezier mode, but the shaded error bars do not get smoothed.
- Probably a too greedy wish: is it possible to make the contour plots
assignable with colormaps (also with steps!) ? E.g., I decide to have 10
fill styles and the respective colormap gets stretched over them?

Thanks a lot for a wonderful tool,
Sergey

Dear all

I've put together a veusz beta release for 1.18. This has quite a few
new features (axes which have a scale given by a function, direct use of
expressions of datasets when plotting). For full details see the release
notes below. It also includes the mac bug workaround which stops windows
appearing behind.

The beta version can be found at
  http://download.gna.org/veusz/testing/

Please do try it out and tell me whether there are any regressions on
previous releases.

Jeremy
