Wow, John Ribberbos... good to see your name here, son of a gun. Fooling big fish has never been a problem for me! My leading cause of breakoffs is probably an over-enthusiastic hook set when a lunker blasts the fly. In second place is putting a fly into a tree on my backcast *grin*.
Just wanted to see if there was a simple solution to what seemed to me to be an obvious problem with tube flies. No reason to lose a fly unnecessarily if it can be avoided.
