Frustrated w/ not being @ Sowbug, (& in particular, not standing in the
White below the dam) I played hooky for almost two hours Friday afternoon.
60 plus degrees & I haven't made to Park Falls for the 7 wt to go w/ my new
reel, so I pulled out the old Wonderrod just to make sure the reel worked. I
forgot how heavy that rod is. As w/ almost every time I made it out last
fall, winds were pretty brisk. Used a 9' 3x leader & 3x Frog Hair tippet
just in case the bass were busting or I hooked another big cat. I spent half
of my early fishing undoing wind knots. Hence, the first verse of the 20
Knot Wind, Wind Knot Blues:

I was flinging a bugger into a pretty stiff wind,

& my 3x frog hair was looking mighty thin.

The fishing was fine, but I was paying my dues

w/ the 20 knot wind, wind knot blues.
