I see. That’s good cause we have a Home Depot not but about 15 miles from me.

Its called an AL3 rod Home Depot sells them for around $3.00 a pack and you 
need a propane tourch nothing hotter they melt ar 750 degrees.

  Gary: I’m going to check those out, because it’s been yrs since I did 
anything like that as a welder, and when I did, the Propane alone wasn’t hot 
enough (specially since aluminum conducts heat away from the torch’s flame  
sooo fast, that you had to have a brazing rod, which took Oxy Acetyline like I

  a propane tourch and an aluminum rod made special for doing this type of 
repair is the way to go.  you can even weld coke cans together wothout burning 
a hole in them.  My old canoe has several holes repaired this way from being 
run agound on sharp rocks.  Very easy to use.
