I used to tie with Gudebrod partly because their thread was very good. And partly because they had partnered with Gary Borger and numbered their threads according to his color system. I have his booklet with all the colors in it. Makes it easy to match an insect's color with his system. I think some tying materials were numbered too. So when Gudebrod folded their tent I was a bit disappointed. These days I'm not so particular about thread color for tying. But wrapping rods would be a different story.
