Nev, still not finished with the 1 wt, it is ready to wrap. It has taken me
nine months to get this far with it.I wish I could get down in the shop more
often. This problem with my right foot is now keeping me from getting things
done. A nurse comes every day to treat my foot and I go to the Wound Clinic one
day a week. It is time consuming along with other doctor appointments.Tony

are marked #396 and I don’t think that is a Gudebrod number. The red does not
quite match and I suspect the seller has respooled from a bulk spool of another
brand. I still have an old Gudebrod colour chart from about 1986 that lists 2
other red colours being #355 Candy Apple Red and #206 Garnet. I suspect I have
been scammed but at least I have 2x 100 yard spools of red for future builds. I
never though that 1 rod would use more than 100 yards of thread but there was
quite a bit of wastage as the intermediate wraps were only 4 or 5 turns and
just handling the section they woud come undone if not varnished.

wanted. They were offering old stock and one of them was so old that the spools

so true, the list has slowed down a lot.
However, it is also our responsibility to revive it a bit.
My fishing was slow this year for known reasons. One of my grandkids took me
out for fishing. Well, this 4 year old asked my a couple of time, if we
shouldn't go out and catch some fish. That's more precise. He is now eager to
ty some flies with me.
Tying season is ahead of us, so I'll intend to stock my boxes with my hoppers,
the blue (parachute) beetle and some EHCs.
However, I'm wondering if I shouldn't add something new to my arsenal. For
trout. Suggestions?

a new spool of red Gudebrod thread that I had but I ran out before finishing
the rod and had to pay a small fortune for 2x100 yard spools of scarlet thread
