As a former scout, I couldn't agree more. We were taught to respect, manage, and love the environment. Part of the Scouts is survival, and if fish is what one has to survive, one must know how to kill, clean, and cook it. Catch and release is a great thing, one that I practice often. I do keep a few for the pan, and I hurt the stream none. In fact, if there was nothing but catch and release, I believe that the fishing might be poorer than it is.
