Okay, okay. All this jocularity about casting the
length of a football field (not including the end
zones, I gather) has got me wondering about what the
current record actually is. I know the inimitable Joan
Wulff held it for quite a while at 161' (I'm sure I'll
be quickly corrected if that's wrong), but what is it
now? I did some searching on the web, but decided the
VFBSEARCHENGINE would be quicker (and more fun).
I found some info on current/recent casting
competitions in various parts of the country, the
winning casts in the men's divisions seem to be
between 90 and 110 feet or so and in the women's
between 70 and 90 feet. These are just the winning
tosses in these particular competitions NOT records,
world or otherwise.

enlightenment.
