I use a clear (opaque) silicone flexible tubing for my tube flies just
to keep the single hook
in line. I obtained this tubing from Sportfish and it is Veniard's I
believe. For the tube flies,
I use Owner hooks, which work fine, even with a turned down eye.
Waddingtons however
need a straight eye hook and for these I use Tiemco 800B which are both
short in the shank
and straight eyed.. This is what I want the heat shrink for to keep the
hook in line.

A search on Google for "clear heat shrink tubing" results in many US
supply houses but no
Canadian. A search for the same item on Yahoo Canada returns zero. I
have found one possible
supply house in Port Coquitlam, BC. I will check out the local
electronic supply/ repair shops.
