Try using a hair dryer to warm the finish, note you have to be will to be patient and take a long  time. Or try setting the rod in a warm place for a few days, like near the furnace waterheater. If the coating isn't tooooo soft just let it set for a long time, maybe time will help.  The ratio is 1 to 1. supposedly one drop will make a difference, I believe it. Dan gober

Subject: [VFB] Sticky Finish

I've been trying to finish a rod but the finish keeps remaining sticky. It's Flex-coat Lite and is about 4 years old lying unopened in a drawer in the garage until now. I'm using a plastic spoon to measure the amounts since these are bottles and not syringes. I've recoated three times thinking that maybe I didn't get an accurate amount. I'm sure that it is well mixed and have tried pre-heating the bottles in a water bath. Does this stuff age?? Do I need to get new finish , preferably in a syringe? Kind of ticked off about this since the finsh is starting to be overbuilt for the rod and I don't want to start over.
