Also, it seems to me that a fast 3wt should be better at protecting a small
tippet than a slow 6wt because it takes less force to bend the rod.
Again, I don't notice any appreciable difference in any area except the intial reaction to the strike by the angler. More important would be the drift/mend/timing versus fast/slow rod tip. Never have I lost a fish that I could blame the rod. It was always me or something I had done.
