SOREN,
I have that same action from the "Stupid" Brook Trout in the Sierra back Country. One would pull a fly thru the water in a "Un-natural" action & those Brookies would nail the fly. I think of the Late, great Gary LaFontiane's writings about "triggering" responses to explain such action...in a nut shell he stated that an angler can trigger a reaction by giving certian actions to the fly being fished. I've watched such happenings since reading Mr. LaFontiane's books....( I strongly recommend ALL ANGLERS to read his wonderful books..) & would have to agree with his wisdom about certian situations & how the trout(Grayling/Char/Salmon/Bass...Etc..)take one's fly... Food for thought...

Hi Neal,
By analphabetic I mean that the graylings doesnt seem to have read the flyfishing handbooks. Of course I cant say for sure but it could for example be a result of poor reading capability as the experts who writes the books hardly can be wrong, can they?
Greetings Soren
