Doug I would add a couple of things.  One attend shows with tying demos or tying expos.  I would recommend the expos.  I tye at them & am more than happy to go over things with people.  Take a class with a well known tyer, there are some with extremely talented tyers at a reasonable cost.  Find someone to a one on one swap. You 2 swap flys & critique each other flys.  Like DonO said you have to keep tying.  If it is not right cut it off & start over.  Don't tell Don that I agreed with him 8^)   Bob H
