The only thing that I REALLY meant from my contributions to this thread was that Doug shouldn�t ever feel put down by what people say about his flies. None of us should. I am in this list because I enjoy the cyber-company. I�ve even gotten to meet some of you in person. I have learned a great deal from the tiers here�and have much more to learn.
We do all have room to learn�some of us (myself) more than others. The good thing is that people like DonO and Tony (and many other wonderful tiers whose names we don�t hear all the time) are willing to teach and, in some cases, entertain. I have never known any of these people to be impatient with any of my questions. And I do not imagine that anyone has totally blasted any of the flies that I have swapped.
I have had constructive criticism for a few patterns�.when I asked someone specifically for it (off list, of course!) The criticism was entirely well-intended and very much appreciated. I will ask again.
So � let�s make sure that nobody is upset about any of this.
If any of my comments have raised anyone�s hackles�.
Trim them.
