Glad you stumbled across the Virtual Fly Box Listserve. There are around 600 fly fishers who are members of this list. Swaps occur quite frequently. All you need do is watch the daily "posts" and when you see a swap announced that interests you, simply reply that you'd like to be a participant. The Swapmeister, (member who is hosting the swap) will want your name and what you'll be tying. You might not know your pattern right away, but you should notify the swapmeister as soon as you do.
Make a "folder" to keep all posts about the swap in - incoming from the swapmeister, and your outgoing replies.That way, you'll always be able to go back and check on the "rules and regs" and "updates" of the swap, etc. Swaps are fun, educational and you'll get some really beautiful flies for your participation.
However, you need to watch out for DonO. I understand he spoke badly of me and Jimi.
No, seriously. DonO is a great friend of mine. He just injects a little humor into the list, because truthfully, it can get very dry and technical at times.
