I've found the best time to go is whenever you can get away...... Smallmouth don't care much about our discomfort in the air temp.
I assume you mean Horeshoe Cienega, right? Straightned out your hook you say.... Hummmm .....Big Carp? Probably a BIG brown. Best fishing I had one time was in a snow storm on Woods Canyon. Hope you can get out tomorrow to fish. The Greer lakes should be fun. When is a good time to go to Apache for Smallies? I heard when : the weather is nasty. I fished Horseshoe yesterday afternoon. had one nice : one on, straightened my hook and lost it. Other than that it was slow. there : was a steady freezing drizzle the whole time and the water temp was 38 : degrees; the lake might be turning over. We went by Sunrise and it was frozen : over. This morning in Eager we awoke to 5" of snow on the ground and it is : still snowing. We might try Becker Lake this evening after work. It might be : the only lake up here still in the 40's. : Tightlines, : Jeff C. : Tucson (temporarily Eagar) :
