Good afternoon, all:
A question occurred to me while reading the stream side tying thread today - how often do you change patterns if you're not getting takes on the one you're using? Then what determines what you change to?
Personally, I'll change patterns or tandem rigs every hour to hour and a half if nothing likes what I have to offer, trying to use each offering in a couple different types of water to make sure I'm fishing somewhere that seems promising. When I change it will usually be either to something that is a general imitation (PT, hare's ear, caddis dry or midge) or to something that looks like what comes up attached to rocks, is fluttering around the water or ends up in my seine net.
Thoughts?
Kev
