Kevin,
I'm not sure that I can say that I have a set rule, I let conditions
dictate what happens as I'm sure most do. If fishing surface and not getting
hits (but the fish are taking off the top) I tend to change a lot. But if
fishing wet I tend to stay with the same fly longer knowing that it could be
that I need to get a little deeper or shallower to get into the right zone.
And on a few occasions (very few) when the fishin has been none stop I'll
change just to see if the fish will hit something different.
