I got the heavy-duty version of the Folstaff about five years ago and I wouldn't be without it. Although I was tempted by the lower priced alternatives, it seemed to be the wrong place to economize. Sometimes I can't resist plowing through currents that are a little hazardous and the staff really is solid in those conditions.
The quality is excellent, what with double shock-cords and good wall thickness on the tube sections. And also, it's made in New York, as opposed to China or Korea. It would be pretty bad to learn that the cut-rate substitute can't hack it when you're in a dangerous situation. This product is worth the price.
