Is it a fly or not?
I believe a "fly" is a replica of a mayfly, caddis, stonefly. Anything else is a lure. Whether a woolybugger, muddler or San Juan Worm, they ain't flys. Would I fish some of the lures? Sure. Go to the PA regs to see what's legal. Most would agree with me. It's not what lures the fish but what allows the fish to be released or kept IMHO. Oh, and no scent. Yes Byard, you can keep your Copper Johns (but they ain't flys). Okay! Larva, but what species?
