Tony,

That's horrible! I used to fish with corn when I was a kid. I had no idea it was so harmful. We have a couple of "juvenile only" lakes around here where I've seen some adults use this practice to help out their kids. Probably explains why it's so hard to find fish in those lakes except shortly after they're stocked... I think I'll talk to the Rotary Club (they sponsor most of these lakes) and see if we can get some informational signs posted around them.

Thank you for the information.

What happens if the trout do get bloated on corn and some
die in a short time. What is worse is the trout that eat a
bunch of it. Corn has no food value to the trout and they
don't digest ot pass it. They swim around and get thinner
and thinner till they die. I have found some dead trout that
looked like ells
I have also caught some trout that were so skinny that they
did not look like trout.
As hard as we have tried to ban corn, we have not succeeded.
We did manage to get it banned for chumming in the C&R
areas. The guides would chum with corn in the C&R areas and
use a little yellow fuzz ball as the fly. Some still do it
but the fine is real heavy if caught.
