You have to be VERY careful using squirrel flies!
Just outside town there is a large mill pond; been abandoned for years.  Folks say there is a huge fish that lives in that pond.
Buddy of mine decided to fish for it.  He had a blacksmith forge a hook out of an old wagon tongue.  He lashed a road-kill squirrel to a short piece of 1x12 and attached some cable.  He floated that squirrel out to the middle of the pnd and attached the other end of the cable to the water wheel.
 
When he set the hook, that fish was so big it unground 8 bushels of corn before he could slow it down!
 
Use great caution when using squirrely flies!
