Two materials I didn't anticipate using as much as I do (both synthetics): nylon in its various forms, from ultrahair to brushed out hanks of craft cord for various streamer wings and EVA foam (craft foam). I've used these two materials in many different flies. Lately I've been experimenting with mylar sheet to make finishes on poppers and craft foam flies such as crease flies. I'm still experimenting and finding more synthetics to give a try.
