Since I am here in Hawaii, I am late getting in on this.    Saltwater - Daiichi, Mustad and Kobe Trout - Daiichi and Dai-Riki.  Mustads are fine except that I have problems with them bending in sizes 18 and smaller.   I too have had Mustads in one group that were brittle.  But only that one group was a problem.  I do not think that they are as sharp as Daiichi, Tiemco or Dai- Riki .  This is more important for me on the smaller sizes.  I also have found that Mustads seem lose their point.  On some nymphs I have noticed that this can be quite acute.  I started carrying a sharpener although I generally lose them before they get that dull.  But just in case I have just one and it is catching well - oh those dreams.   Mike
