Cut the quill to the size you want plus the lenght of the hook, and file down one end so it is in more or less of a "U" shape. Than tie that securly to the hook and use some super glue. This can also be done with Goose and Turkey Quills stripped of the feather. Hope this helps!

I was able to locate the porcupine quills. Hide and Fur has them on their websight. I'm still not quite sure how to make an extended body out of them yet. I haven't spent much time trying to figure it out either. If you reached into your fly box wrong it would probably be a painful mistake..... ;)

I stopped today and tried toget you some porkiepine quils, but it had been run over so many times all I could find were ones that were all smashed and broken. About all that was left was the hide.
