Use regular acetone which you get in the paint department. The fingernail
polish remover works poorly. I believe that the best for thinning Sallys is
MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) which seems to thin better and keep its thinness
longer.Be careful not to breathe that stuff. Henk could give us a better
idea of which of the two is the very best. Joyce

Acetone would probably tend to dry just a little more quickly since it has a lower boiling point. However, as a diluent, they should be approximately equal. They are first cousins - heck, they're siblings!

[Technically, MEK is Methyl Ethyl Ketone and Acetone is Methyl Methyl Ketone (preferred IUC name is Dimethyl ketone), but who really cares?]
