So it is normal tieing it in by the tip? I was told/taught that you should
tie it in at the back, and then i was told tie it in by the front. Which way
is the right way?

The normal way IS by the tip, for a Wolly Bugger of course. But, try it the
other way sometime, gets an interesting effect. What you need to do, is make
sure you have a hackle long enough so that the fibers/barbs will still be
long enough by the time you get up to the head. Then pull it throught the
water and see. mark
