I have both, 'the Art if Flytying...' and Skip's book '..made clear and 
simple'. I would recommend Skip's book. It covers less, for sure but 
what it covers is covered in more detail. And he has a 'problems and 
solutions' for each step.

In fact, that would be a great project to follow up the Benchside 
Reference: A DVD filled with Quicktime or WAV video clips illustrating 
each technique. I have found that it is often very subtle things done 
by a tier that make all of the difference. These are difficult to 
illustrate in a book.

I have digitized all of my fly fishing videos into Quicktime clips so 
I can watch them on my computer. It makes them much more useful.

    I've been asked to recommend a book for beginners on Fly Tying for
    a small local library. My favorites are The Art Of Fly Tying by
    John Vliet.  or The Complete Book of Fly Tying by Eric Leiser.
    Does anyone have any other favorites. Dan
