I had to make 6 for a class I was teaching, Dave Wilson sent me this help.
"Brazing rods are the brass or brass alloy that you would use to braze metals together. They are thin diameter rods about 3 feet long. I did all my bending first then cut it off for the length I needed. I used needle nose pliers for all the bends, as the metal is fairly soft. You could also use very thin aluminum welding rod for that flashy chrome look"
I also prefer the Double Hook, it is much easier to use, holds the loop open and easier to teach with.
Hobby shops sell stainless steel rods too.
