I have become enamoured with working on a may fly "study" this year and picked up
Shane Stalcup's "Mayflies: Top to Bottom". He uses medallion sheeting quite a bit for
the wings. I have checked many of the fly fishing/tying retailers in my area (south
eastern NH) and no one carries it. I was wondering if anyone had any crafty
suggestions as to a substitute. I have tried the cellophanewrapper from a box of
cigaretts and a alcohol based marker to make patterns on it. As a test it worked fine
until I wetted it and rubbed the marking off of it (granted, I rubbed pretty hard, but
you figure it has to survive the wear and tear of a fish gnawing on it).
