I have not seen medallion sheeting but if it is the
man-made swiss straw it is Poly-Band. Poly Band twine is made of polyethylene film which is then folded to desired width and thickness thus it has an ability to maintain a flat conformability to packages. It holds tight with no tendency to cut through packages being tied.
I have a huge roll of this in white if you would like a sample.
