If you have some experience in boat handling you can rent a 2-3 man raft at Flaming Gorge Lodge and put in at the dam and take out at Red Ceek. Car spotting and raft pickup are included in the price. We tried a guided trip the first day and rafted on our own the second. Guided is better, you can concentrate on fishing, not rafting. Flaming Gorge Lodge is reasonable and there are Condos there that rent and could hold a bunch. As I remember, there is a trail along the east side from the dam to the first take out. Should be able to find a spot to your self if you walk a bit. Fish are everywhere. The guide was fixing lunch on a small shelf on the side opposite the trail. While he cooked I fished. Caught several before lunch was ready. This was early May and the water was up a bit. Reservoir drawdown in anticipation of June run off. Still great.
