Paul and Joyce gave some great in-depth reasons why a Rotary vise has some advantages. 
Al Beatty recently got arm extensions for the Dan Vise. I just bought one yesterday 
from him. This will give you much more room for working on the left hand side of the 
fly. He has a picture of it on his website. That was my major complaint of the Dan 
Vise, the jaws were just to close to the main stem to work on long streamers properly.
