You can also pull out the core of any nylon rope.     Most of these are made
out of synthetics these days.   I have used a rope core to tie the butterfly
fish I have on Hans site.   Some of the body braiding we use in fly tying
have a rope core you need to remove first.  If the braid has been dyed then
the core is also dyed and I've found some nice colors that way.
